About statistici.ro

statistici.ro publishes official statistics about Romania: wages, inflation, unemployment, population, GDP, pensions, prices, building permits, tourism and education. Every figure comes from an official source and carries, on its own page, that source, the period it refers to and the revision marking the publisher gave it.

Access is free and needs no account. The site sells nothing and brokers no transaction.

Most of the data come from the National Institute of Statistics, through its Tempo Online database. The comparisons with the European Union come from Eurostat. The minimum wage is not a statistic but a threshold set by Government decision, published in the Official Gazette, and it is marked as such.

The figures are not altered. The only computations are declared on the page where they appear: where the source publishes an index and the page shows the rate it stands for, the page says so explicitly. How everything is updated and what is checked is described on the methodology page.
